Hi, my name is Maggie Hess, I just published my latest book on Kindle, that is going to appear in print tomorrow, and very soon will be released by Audible. It's called Art of Repairing Broken Pottery, and it consists of 32 pages of new poetry. So if you like poetry, or you feel drawn to contemplative writing about recovering from mental illness, I would love for you to get my book and review it if you can.
"It's been a while. You've been walking alone" sings Joshua Radin in his song Belong in the background. Funny coincidence, since I was going to talk about Life without Social Media. I used to have various forms of social media, and for a while my facebook stats were at least looking good, but for my sanity, I deleted the account (several times, until the last one which was hopefully the last time.)
I still have youtube. But I am by no means an influencer there.
Anyway, I am just trying to promote my books, my poetry, prose, and children's books, because they mean so much to me, so I thought maybe using this old blog platform might help.
I might write here every day, but that also might not happen. I have no idea my projected blog plan. It does feel nice to have a way to write you, whoever happens to read this.
I got my first covid vaccination today. I had an appointment, and it went pretty smoothly. I am very grateful to the health care workers and healers who are making this time easier for all of us.
I have been a part of an online writing group lately. It is a contemplative writing group that I started. I love the community of having the few others who attend it, and am glad they are quite regular. This aspect of my life has made the pandemic feel much easier than it may have otherwise.
If that sounds interesting to you, my second ever Skillshare course taught by me will be on the subject of Contemplative Writing, and I will try to post here when I release it. My first course can be accessed here: https://www.skillshare.com/classes/Wabi-Sabi-Poetry-Write-Your-Mistakes-into-Beautiful-Art/1733036695/projects?via=user-profile
Well, I hope you are doing well.
Thanks for reading!
